Sydney Wine Competition
This is a remarkable competition, in that one isn't able to enter it - you must be invited to submit an entry by the judges. Olssens is privileged to have been invited 6 times now in the 8 years that the event will have been held, to 2009.
In 2009 the 2007 Jackson Barry, which won the Bragato Champion Wine and numerous Gold Medals, was selected - so again, we are honoured to have been invited, albeit that we didnt win :)
In 2008 the 2007 Slapjack Creek was selected yet again, a grand acknowledgement, but not the winner.
In 2007 we weren't invited to submit a wine!
In 2006 we didn't have a 2004 Slapjack Creek available to be selected and the 2005 wasn't selected.
In 2005 we did it again with the 2003 Slapjack Creek, but this time won Champion Wine of the Show as well as the Pinot Noir Trophy. A stunning result for one of New Zealand's smallest wineries.
2004 was the first year that an Olssens wine had been selected
to be shown and we were delighted to win the Champion
Pinot Noir with the 2002 Slapjack Creek Pinot Noir.
