  Winemakers notes
Grapes for Robert the Bruce were hand-picked and destemmed into a 2.5 tonnes fermenter. The must underwent a 10 day coal soak aid colour and flavor extraction prior to starting fermentation. Fermentation lasted 20 days the wine was gently pressed and left to settle over night before being racked into French and American oak barriques. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel, racked and was left to mature for 10 months until bottling in late February 2008.The wine is unfiltered and unfined.

 
  Wine description
The wine has a rich nose of casis and violets supported notes of leather and toasty caramel. The palate is balanced with savoury flavours of mushroom and black pepper accentuated by hints of blackberries and doris plums. The wine is drinking well now and will also benefit from aging.
Enjoy with your favourite roasts, a juicy steak, pizza, pasta or with good company by a warm fire.
