notes The six picking bins of Pinot Noir grapes for the 2009 Rose were selected from various parts of our vineyard in order to achieve an optimal balance of fruit and acidity in the wine. The grapes were handpicked and then "foot stomped" the traditional French way twice daily over a period of 72 hours before being whole bunch pressed to a settling tank. Once settling was complete the juice was racked to a stainless steel tank and to one neutral French oak barrel for fermentation which lasted about four weeks. The wine under went light fining before being cold and protein stabilised prior to sterile filtration and bottling in August 2009. |

description Notes of cherry blossom and strawberry are followed by a hint of red toffee apple on the nose. The wine shows a more delicate side of Pinot Noir with a palate exuding flavours of strawberries coated by a generous and creamy mid-palate with a persistent thread of acidity. This Rose was purposefully crafted to be enjoyed both as an aperitif and as an important part of al fresco dining. It is an essential part of any picnic paired with smoked salmon and summer platters. |
